From a slashdot article I saw
politics.slashdot.org/politic...01.shtml
The new rules would allow companies to substitute vegetable oil for cocoa butter and still be able to call their product "chocolate". The public comment period has already ended, but it's still worth keeping an eye on.

Re: FDA Considers Redefining Chocolate
Sun, April 29, 2007 - 6:58 AMActually they've extended the comment period to June 25. Make your voice heard! Chocolate isn't the only thing at risk of odd and senseless alteration, either. Most of it is just an industry-pandering BAD idea.

Sun, April 29, 2007 - 12:02 PMOh, I hadn't heard that they had extended the comment period -- that's great news! :)
Please send in comments. Believe it or not, they are read, and proposed policies have been dropped if there is a large enough negative outpouring.
